SunChips Bag is Now Biodegradable & Less Noisy

Now, SunChips is available in the market with another biodegradable bag which is less noisy compared to the previous one. Frito-Lay, the New York-based company has started putting a new version of biodegradable bag on shelves that produces about 10 decibel less sound than the sound made by the original bags. Last year, Frito-Lay received so many complaints about loud version bag and now it has solved the problem by introducing a quieter version of SunChips bag.

Still, the SunChips bags are prepared of environmentally-friendly plant material in place of plastic material. But, now a rubber adhesive has been featured between the outer and inner layers of bag, which reduces the sound of the two layers friction. The company used different adhesives to place between the two layers of a bag; one protects the food inside and one carries the logo and labels outside.

Owned by PepsiCo Inc., Frito-Lay is one of the several companies which are trying to evolve more sustainable packages. Frito-Lay is a main contender of Dayton-based Mike-sell’s Potato Chip Co., a company which markets snacks like potato chips, popcorn and pretzels.
