Kollywood actress Sonia Agrawal and director Selvaraghavan filed for divorce at a family court in Chennai on August 12, 2009 Wednesday. The couple filed for divorce with mutual consent. The petition was filed in the presence of Ramalingam, who is principal judge of the family court.
Sonia Agrawal depicted as Selvaraghavan’s favorite heroin, and worked in three movies, 'Kadhal Kondein', '7 G Rainbow Colony' and 'Pudupettai'. In two movies from three, she played a role of lover of Selva’s brother Dhanush. She married Selva in December 2006.
After marriage she bid send-off to films and later she re-entered with TV serial ‘Naanam’ last year. The two reasons have reported for their separation. It was first suspected when Selva’s family was in opposing of Sonia’s acting decision. And second, according to reports, Sonia was irritated by Selva for his closeness with actress Andrea. She plays a role of heroin in forthcoming movie 'Aayirathil Oruvan' of Selvaraghavan. Sonia had once visited her husband on sets of film and slapped Andrea, as trying to take away her husband.
