Online dating website, BeautifulPeople.com is especially made for beautiful people because when an applicant applies for this website, users rate on his/her physical attractiveness and if he/she is considered as ugly then applicant can not access to this website. Recently, BeautifulPeople.com is hacked by a virus called Shrek and this virus allowed 30,000 "ugly" people to access to the BeautifulPeople.com. A “discontented former employee” allegedly perpetrated the virus last month and gave the name Shrek to it.

Greg Hodge, the managing editor of the website, was suspected when many new members were accepted in more than six-week period, it appeared that every applicant is allowed to access to the site because the rating module was taken away by the virus. BeautifulPeople.com, the dating website contains more than 700,000 members. It is expected that this website should be soon repaired and every new member will be taken to the under rating process.

As per suggestion of security firm Sophos, the Shrek virus could be in fact a publicity stunt by the company. BeautifulPeople.com is yet to comment on the allegation. A jilted ex-employee may have been the guilty person. 11,942 from the U.S., 2,340 from Canada, and thousands more from other countries are involved in the ugly people, who were able to access to this dating website.
