Sheetal Mafatlal in the jail 

Sheetal Mafatlal has arrested on June 9th, 2009 and has been sent to jail till 12th June. She is a President of Mafatlal Luxury and socialite businesswomen. She was taken into the judicial custody as she carried Jewellery and diamonds which costs of several lakh rupees. Atulya Mafatlal who is one of the India's oldest business houses king is the husband of Sheetal.

She was caught at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport at Mumbai. Sheetal ‘s bail will be heard on Tuesday under the Customs act. It was estimated that she had jewellery of Rs. 53 lakhs to 1 crore in her bag. Later it was found that she had jewellery of Rs. 83 lakhs but she declared just of  Rs 30 lakhs. The lawyer of her said that the jewellery and other goods were of her own and they were given by her relatives. While sitting in the court, her husband and lawyer said that they are non-resident Indian. When she was in the court she had wear sun glasses and peach salwar suit, so the court staff told her to remove the sun glasses and she had done it.

Maneshinde told that Sheetal has even more jewellery than what she had with her in India. Furthermore he added that Sheetal would pay the amount which the court will charge for her bail. In the support of her wife, Atulya Mafatlal told that she was on a short visit to India as she is NRI and lives in London. According to the rule of Supreme court if the value of the gold is more than 1 crore than the tax legally is also more than 30 lakhs. Now lets see what the court gives the judgement in case of Sheetal.
