1 dead and 4 Hurt in Sacramento Area Home explosion. Rancho Cordova and Calif. One of the victims of a home explosion in a Sacramento suburb has died Phyllis Brown and spokeswoman with the University of California and Davis Medical Center and says Wilbert Paana has died Wednesday.Brown says Paana was is in his early 70 and suffered a severe abdominal injury in the explosion. He was listed in critical condition at the hospital earlier in the day and along with two other people.

One of the victims of a home explosion in a Sacramento suburb has died.

Charred remnants were all that remained of the house and which sat at the end of a culdesac beside a busy highway. The Debris littered the street. Homes on either side of the leveled one also were damaged.

Two others, including a utility worker, were hospitalized elsewhere with lesser injuries. A firefighter was also treated for an undetermined injury.
