India is observing Anti-terrorism day Friday on occurrence of 19th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The Home Ministry on Thursday said that “Anti-terrorism Day is observed to generate awareness among all sections about the danger of terrorism, violence and its dangerous effect on the people, the society and the country.” Debates and discussions will be organised in schools, colleges and universities. As per the plan, employees of government institutions, public sector undertaking and other public institutions will take anti-terrorism pledge. Gandhi was killed in Sriperumbudur in Tamilnadu while campaigning for an election rally Nineteen years ago. |
