President Patil leaves for China to strengthen strategic partnership

Pratibha off to China

President Pratibha Patil Devisingh Wednesday travel to China to deepen and get bigger strategic and cooperative partnership between the two countries.

She will visit China from May 26 to 31 and will turn out to be the first Indian head of state to visit that country in a decade.

President Patil visit coincide with the 60th anniversary of organization of diplomatic relations between India and China.
Food processing industry Subodh Kant Sahay, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nirupama Rao and a business center allocation are with her.

"This visit is the primary by an Indian head of state to China in a decade, most lately in 2000 by the then President KR Narayanan. The Chinese side, President Hu Jintao paid a state visit to India in November 2006," says Rao.
