Looking shocked and surprised, A jury today found Phil Spector guilty of 2nd degree murder in the 2003 shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson in Los Angeles. Producer and songwriter Phil Spector has been found guilty in the charge of second degree murder, and will serve an anticipated sentence of 15 years to life..
Spector, donning a red suit and handkerchief with a dark suit, yawned as he awaited a jury to deliver his verdict in Los Angeles today. A judge denied bail and Spector was taken into custody. Sentencing is scheduled for May 29.
This was the second trial for the music man in relation to the shooting death of Clarkson, an actress found dead in Spectors home outside of Los Angeles in 2003. Spector, who has worked with legends the likes of John Lennon and Tina Turner, claimed Clarksons death was an accidental suicide . Prosecution has largely maintained Spector was and was dangerous, a drug addict and even confessed to a staffer the night of Clarksons death, I think I killed somebody.
