Ophiuchus - New zodiac signs 2011

Ophiuchus, the 13th zodiac sign is added to the zodiac chart. The new sign is also recognized as Serpentarius or the Serpent Holder. It is placed between Scorpio & Sagittarius as well as falls between November 29 & December 17. It is the only sign linked with a real person which is represented by a man holding a snake. Ophiuchus is connected with enlightenment, healing, higher education and medicine.

The reason for new Zodiac Sign is the changes in the alignment of the Earth according to astronomer Parke Kunkle. The original 12 Zodiac signs were formed almost 3,000 years ago and they are no longer applicable as the location of the Earth in relation to the sun has been altered drastically. People who are born under the Ophiuchus sign would have the qualities such as creative nature, goals of peace, good luck and harmony.

Ophiuchus is based on “Imhotep”, a man in Ancient Egypt who was recognized as ‘Aesclepius’. People who are born under the Ophiuchus sign have number 12 as lucky number and lean to travel for the extra flamboyant in dress sense favoring bright colors. Ophiuchus is a big constellation that is located between Scorpio and Sagittarius.
