Nina von Stauffenberg born 27 August 1913, died April 2 2006.she was the wife of Colonel Claus von stauffenberg.her husband was the head of faild plot to assassinate Hitler on 20 July 1944. Nina met Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg, a Roman Catholic, at the age of sixteen while attending a girls' boarding school Wieblingen, Heidelberg. Colonel von Stauffenberg and other members of the internal German resistance were shot and their families arrested by Gestapo.Ms. von Stauffenberg, was pregnant with their fifth child at the time was held in a camp in Frankfurt an der Oder, while the four other children were kept in an orphanage under false names. The children were reunited with their mother and new siblings after the war. Nina she was detained at various places, among them the Ravensbrück concentration camp, and gave birth to a fifth child while in custody in Frankfurt an der Oder, in January 1945. At the end of the war, she was reunited with his second children.After the war she worked for better relations between Germans and their American occupiers, and helped their children to build new lives in West Germany.
