Nidar Singh, an Indian origin former factory worker from Wolverhampton, England is the world’s last existing Sikh warrior master. An 80-year-old guru from northern India, Mohinder Singh trained Nidar Singh with his skills in the primitive fighter culture of Shastar Vidiya. 45 years old, Nidar Singh has dedicated his whole life to the inexplicable art, holding master classes around the globe. At present, he is in search of a descendant to pass his secrets to a new age group, so he invites promising wannabe fighters to his Midlands home in Wolverhampton for try-outs. As per Nidar Singh, Shastar Vidiya is a part of his past and civilization as well as he will mislay his personality without it. It has modified history and created great soldiers, to become extinct for it now would be a disaster. Shastar Vidiya is forever in his mind so it is irrespective of what he is doing during the day. At present, his mission in life is to find a descendant to continue this great martial art. As he is the last recognized remaining master, it is all disappeared if he will die with it. The Sikh warrior left his day job in food factory in 2002 to become a full-time writer and trainer of Shastar Vidiya, which is translated as “science of weapons”. The basis of Shastar Vidiya is a five-step movement such as go forward on the adversary, strike his flank, defend against incoming blows, take a commanding situation and hit. Sikhs in the 17th century developed it when their fledgling religion was coming embattled, but after the first Anglo-Sikh War, Sikhs were banned from using arms by the British so it was forced to be underground.
