Former Miss USA Shanna Moakler Resigns As Her Post

The 34 year old reality television star and Former Miss USA of 1995, Shanna Moakler reconciled from her as head of the Miss California USA pageant in response to the Miss Califorina Carrie Prejean affair. Carrie was allowed to keep her crown.

She had angrily accused Prejean on Monday of violating the contract she signed with pageant organizers by speaking out repeatedly on behalf of organizations amid a controversy over her topless photos and she angrily accused Prejean apparent that she believes marriage should be between a man and a woman, igniting a cultural debate.

Moakler has no longer believes in the organization, she said, “I cannot with a clear conscious move forward supporting and promoting the Miss Universe Organization when I no longer believe in it, or the contracts I signed committing myself as a youth." She also added, “I want to be a role model for young woman, but now feel it more important to be a role model for her children. I am sorry and hope I have not let any young supporters down but wish them the best of luck in fulfilling their dreams.”

Miss California Carrie Prejean later announced that she'll be launching a campaign opposing gay wedding with the National Organization for Marriage and saying her situation was similar to President Barack Obama's.
