Tracking global weakness, Indian Equities opened gap down on Tuesday. At 9:30 am, the Sensex was to 16,220.72, down 248.83 points or 1.51 per cent. The Bombay Stock Exchange index started the day at 16,444.57 against previous close of 16,469.55. The 30-share index sank two and a low of 16,216.55 in the half hour of trade. National Stock Exchange Nifty was to 4864.85, lower 79.10 points or 1.60 per cent. The 50-share index opened 4945.30 versus Monday's close of 4943.95. The index touched a low of 4,859.70. |
