Medical Education Remain Under Health Ministry

Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday rejected a proposal for the Department of Human Resources Development HRD for the medical training of the proposal of the National Council of Higher Education and Research NCHER.

"This training can not be separated from the Ministry of Health," Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad are in now that the conflict with the Ministry of HRD.

Azad said that his ministry has proposed setting up a National Health Human Resource NCHRH a general regulatory agency to reform the current legislation and to increase the supply of skilled manpower in the health sector.

He stressed that President Pratibha Patil said in his speech to Parliament in June 2009.

Azad said that the Task Force was established in June NCHRH and creation of the Task Force submitted its report in July 2009. Task Force report and the bill was sent to the observations of the state and 13 countries have already responded. So far the Ministry of Health on this issue, "said Azad.
