College student Massachusetts charged in slaying possibly linked to Craigslist
Philip Markoff, A-22 year old College Student has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a woman in Boston, Massachusetts, who may have been contacted through a Craigslist ad.
Philip Markoff is a student at Boston University with no criminal records. But he also accused of armed robbery and kidnapping of another offer. Markoff was under police surveillance. He was arrested earlier in the afternoon after a traffic stop south of town.
Markoff is suspected in the murder of Julissa Brisman. She was New York City resident. She was found unconscious with several gunshot wounds in Boston's Copley Marriott Hotel 14 April 2009. After She was transferred to Boston Medical Center but where she was died from her injuries.
Four days before Brisman is murder, Markoff allegedly robbed a 29-year-old woman at gunpoint at a Westin Hotel in Boston. The robbery was interrupted when the woman's husband into the room. After pointing his gun at the man, the suspect fled.
The police said that Brisman a model that offered massage through Craigslist, a popular online ads service. They Said "It seems as if it were a fight between the victim and the suspects at the end of your hotel room immediately prior to the shooting.
The police did not trigger a photograph of Markoff Monday. A police spokesman would not disclose details about her Craigslist ad but said she and Brisman was involved in similar activities.
This is a compelling case with a lot of evidence - with computer evidence is a part of it. The authorities have received more than 150 leads in the case that Davis credited the popularity of the site.
Markoff's arraignment was set for Tuesday morning in Boston Municipal Court. It was not immediately clear whether he had retained counsel defense spokesman. Boston investigators were working with police in Warwick, Rhode Island, in what could be a related case.
