Air India Express regrets to announce that a B737-800 aircraft operating as flight IX-812 from Dubai to Mangalore was involved in an accident early this morning, May 22, 2010. At least 158 people are feared dead after an Air India Express aircraft boeing 737 travelling from Dubai to Mangalore overshot the runway by 2000 feet while landing at the Mangalore airport on Saturday morning May 22. The accident occurred (06:03 AM) after the aircraft landed at Mangalore airport and overshot the runway.Air India has also sent its rescue teams from Mumbai to Mangalore to carry out rescue operations. Everybody has a right to survival. All measures mus be have been taken before setting up or upgrdation of the Airport. Since crashes chances are more during Planes's take off & take on, a highlevel committee comprising exclusivel experienced Pilots like the ones we lost recently, should certify safety of the Runway so that we can avert such mishaps in future.
