Dramatic images show that how an Indian village terrorized by a wild leopard on 19th July at Prakash Nagar, in north-east India. This leopard attack injured six villagers, a police officer and four forest guards. Fortunately, none of the wounds are life-threatening. But, the miserable conclusion of this drama is that the leopard lost its life while fighting back with knives, stones, and batons. There are several photos captured that describe whole condition during the incident. But one of the pictures is receiving a lot of buzz which show a man being pounced on by the leopard in such a way that may scare the bravest vacationer too. This wild animal came out from a nearby forest reserve and moved towards a group of villagers of the crowded Prakash Nagar, near Siliguri, West Bengal. When wildlife officers arrived with their tranquilizer guns, the animal took protection in an abandoned house. During the forest guards' effort to capture the animal alive, the leopard critically injured one of them who tried to tranquilize animal in the house. At last the leopard was tranquilized, after suffered many external injuries since the police had used batons and knives to save their group. When leopard was taken to the veterinary centre in nearby Suknan, leopard died unfortunately. In this case leopard was finding its way into village just in search of food. Surprisingly, due to the deforestation and disappearance of prey, many wild beasts across India are now living, hunting and mating on the boundary or even in human settlement.
