Legendary Rapper Guru Died at 43

American Legendary Rapper Guru passed away on April 19, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. Guru real name is Keith Elam, 43-year-old born the Boston neighborhood of Roxbury. He was a member of the hip-hop duo Gang Starr. The stage name Guru is a backronym that stands for Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal and the less often used God is Universal.

On February 28, 2010, Guru suffered a cardiac arrest. on March 2nd, he was reported to be recovering after surgery. On March 3rd, a press release to AllHipHop.com said that he had woken from his coma.
