The world's tallest tower is going to be built in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The name of the tallest skyscraper is Kingdom Tower which will be more than 1,000 meters or 3,281 feet high. The exact height of the tower is not released. Currently, only architectural plans and designs were released by architects Smith and Gordon Gill. The construction is expected to start in December and it will take nearly 5 years to build. The total cost of this tallest skyscraper is about $1.2 billion. Kingdom Tower will occupy 500,000 square meter area and it will include 4 Seasons hotel, serviced apartments, ultra-luxurious condos, upscale office space and an observation deck. It will also feature 59 elevators which travel at more than 33 feet per second. There will be a sky terrace on the 157th floor. The tower will cover 2 square miles at its base. There will be a series of notches at all the 3 sides of the tower. All the notches will make pockets of shadow to protect building’s areas from the sun. It will also provide outdoor terraces with fabulous views of Jeddah and the Red Sea. Currently, the World's Tallest Skyscraper is Burj Khalifa which is 828 meters feet high. |
