Kenny Rankin Died from Lung Cancer

The Most famous singer and song writer Kenny Rankin has died from Lung cancer at age of 67. Rankin died on Sunday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Kenny Rankin funeral arrangements are pending said Lucoff.

Kenny Rankin was brilliant pop vocalist and extremely regarded musician-songwriter. Kevin first got success as a guitarist in Bob Dylan's landmark 1965 album, "To all at home". He had been preparing to record an album with latest material when he became ill a few weeks ago.

In a career straddling 50 years, Rankin wrote many hit songs for the best artists Dylan, Peggy Lee and Torme. He also released a Mega hit Music with Peaceful for Helen Reddy. In 1976 Rankin released his own highly praised recordings “The Kenny Rankin Album”. He also delivered hit songs for Carmen McRae and Ruth Batchelor. Rankin wrote “In The Name of Love," and "Haven't We Met,"

Rankin signed his first album with Decca Records at that time he was in his teens. And his music career started in the fourth standard when he sang “O Holy Night” in a school Christmas play. He made his first appearance on “The Tonight Show,” where he impressed host Johnny Carson so much that time Carson set the Rankin’s for his first album “Mind Dusters” in 1967.

Rankin recordings "Spanish Harlem”, “Round Midnight”, “Blackbird” and “I’ve Just a Face” won him the respect of fellow musicians as a singer’s singer.

Rankin was born on 10th Feb, 1940. He grew up listening to a broad spectrum of music, including Afro-Cuban, jazz, Top 40 and Brazilian. He is survived by his daughter Chanda Rankin and Son Chris Rankin.
