Kalpan Suresh Modi, better known by his screen name Kal penn is the actor who portrays Dr. Lawrence Kurtner, one of the three new fellows House keeps on at the beginning at season 4. Penn has over 40 telelvision and movie credits, but become the first known Indian-American actor in hollywood after his sucessful turn in Harold & Kumar go to White Castle in 2004 with his good friend and house guest star John Cho. Harold & Kumar was perheps the first American film to feature main charecters who were where neither Europian or African-American. It made back twice its budget of $9 million. The much anticipated sequel Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay was released in 2008. Ironically, In Harold & Kumar, Penn plays a young man who does not want to became a doctor like his father and brother. However Penn has kept busy since his sucess, with a key role as one of Lex Luthor's henchmen in superman returns and as a terrorist in season 6 of 24. Unfortunly he was dies in House by killing himself with a single gunshot to his right temple.
House has lost a long standing cast member, with Dr. Lawrence Kutner (Played by Kal penn) being killed of in monday night's Episode. In series 5, Episode 20 House was curious why Kutner didn't show up to work, and sends foreman and Dr. Hardley to investigate. when they enter his apartment, they find him dead by sucide. |
