Israel increases diplomatic, PR offensive against flotilla

As the Navy ships trying to break the blockade of Gaza sailed toward the region on Thursday, Israel has stepped up diplomatic efforts and public diplomacy to try and prevent a possible PR disaster.

Foreign Ministry Director General Yossi Gal, met separately Thursday ambassadors to Turkey, Greece, Cyprus, Sweden and Ireland - countries participating in whichthe ship fleet has set sail - and reiterated the position in March that the move is nothing more than "a provocation".

Gal said that Gaza is under Hamas control, which does not of Gaza welfare of citizens headed by the party's agenda.

Gal told the ambassadors that Israel has "inherent right of nature" to protect its citizens and to prevent the transfer of unattended deliveries into Gaza since Hamas, under the tutelage of Iran is still a weapon and ammunition after the rockets targeted Israeli citizens.
