The Iranian government telecommunications agency has officially banned Google's e-mail services (Gmail) and plans to roll out a State-sponsored national email service. The banning coincides with the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Republic. Last summer, During the Iranian elections, Iran government banned social network FriendFeed and Facebook around election time.
