Hemant Karkare was killed when he was leading an operation at hotel Taj against terrorists who had taken 15 people, including seven foreigners, as hostages.
Hemant Karkare, two senior police officers and 80 others were killed when terrorists struck with impunity in Mumbai on Wednesday night in coordinated multiple blasts and gunfire in a dozen areas including at iconic landmarks CST railway station and two five star hotels--Oberoi and Taj. Martyrdom of Hemant Karkare
A white paper should be immediately issued on the martyrdom of Hemant Karkare ATS Chief. News stories flashed by media have raised confusions and hurt the sentiments of Indians. There have been different versions even on the site of operation where the Hemant jee died while fighting the bullets. Some have said Metro cinema, some outside Cama Hospital ( ATS Chief Hemant Karkare , Additional Commissioner Ashok Kamte and noted encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar), and reported Taj Hotel. Such sons of soil should not be brought into controversies and it is the duty of Dr. Man Mohan Singh Jee sitting in the Highest chair of People's faith to immediately let the nation know the truth and save the family of Hemant Karkare from any further agony and confusions. Union Minister Antulay should have conveyed his views to Prime Minister instead of providing a working ground to Pakistan Prime Minister to plead while taliking to an electronic channelinnocence out of Mumbai attacks and Pakistan Prime Minister has tried to take advantage of this case as well like he took that of hurried consclusions by investigating agencies and media regarding use of ATS ( that was immediately contested by Army and forensic reports that were quoted by the media ) in Samjauta Express attack case where in over 60 Pkaistani passemgers were killed to take the shield that the accusations ( Mumbai Attacks ) against Pakistan could be wrong and hurriedly made like earlier cases ( Samjauta Express).

tackling of terrorists: a wider perspective
i am deepak kumar, Manager(Planning & Developemnt) in ISP COllieries of SAIL. the daring method adopted for flushing out PAk Sponsored terrorists from the Taj, Oberoi and Nariman House in Bombay instilled a lot of confidence in us, gave a lot to be proud of, my sincere regards for NSG, Firemen and Mumbai Police(ATS). can other methods of combatting terrorism be also not explored in line with the one adopted by Russians using Chemical means (introduction of Gases for making ailants unconscious) and then taking them over. this way we could have preserved the lives of so many Lions of our NSG,ATS and other combatting agencies

A TRIBUTE TO HEMANT KARKARE
India has yet again lost of its bravest and finest police officers. This man was not a hypocrite and went into the Taj to face off with the terrorists. Would any other senior officer of high rank do that? I think not. His courage is an inspiration to us all in India and we should all pay tribute to him.

the truth is out there
pls do not believe e'thing you hear or see on the news. how did he really die? how did all the hostages die ? initially they said they captured 9 terrorist. now there is only 1. we as normal people are being made fools off. just my 2 cents. lots of questions will remain un-answered. we the people will never know the truth.

A true Hero
Hemant Karkare was a very courageous and brave officer. An officer of his rank need not be on the war front or in direct combat. He could have directed his juniors by sitting far away from the place. But he Chose to LEAD FROM FRONT, caring a damn for the terrorists. If the allegations of political facor were true, why would he be there at the spot facing the terrorists. It is a shame that BJP and their allied militant cronies (Sangh parivar) were alleging false remarks against him and were putting him under stress.
Karkare is a true hero. I salute him!

Hemant murdered
I feel the same and as on a CNN website we can see all 3 police officers getting in the hospital entrance and murdered in no time. Also, those terrorist in there, spoke Marathi. He was seen speaking over phone before joining the other 2 officers killed proves they got instrunctions from someone before he headed there. Everyone giving different asination location also proves there is some conspiracy.

i belive that he was murdured by his own people, i dont think these people died of terrorist bullets i hope our indian goverment has done the post motem of his body and collected all docments.
