He was introduced into the Hall of Fame in 1984 and retired in 1975 after one season with the Kansas City Royals that was his fifth on the career home run list. At present, Killebrew is on 11th position on the all-time homer list and in league history to Babe Ruth, his eight seasons with 40 or more homers still is tied for second. In home runs, the American League was led six times by Killebrew and he was named MVP in 1969. That year, he hit .276 with 49 homers, 140 RBI, 145 walks (to just 84 strikeouts), a .427 on-base percentage and a .584 slugging percentage in all 162 games. Mayo Clinic, one of the largest and most experienced medical centers, has made remarkable advances in the treatment of this disease and now is treating esophageal cancer in the world. As per the Mayo Clinic website, esophageal cancer is comparatively rare in the United States, while it is more prevalent in other parts of the globe. Food is carried from the throat to the stomach by the esophagus so that it can be digested. |
