Dreaded robber Ghanshyam Kewat Dead in encounter
Dreaded robber Ghanshyam Kewat was shot dead Thursday by Uttar Pradesh police during a fierce three day gun battle in Jamauli in Rajapur area village of Chitrakoot and district of Uttar Pradesh. Kewat encounter started at 1200 hrs at least 400 security staff, including Special Operation Group (SOG), General of Police (PAC), Special Task Force (STF), Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), and Director General of Police (DGP) were continued on the third day.
Police surrounded the area three days ago after learning about the incidence of the criminal and his gang. Uttar Pradesh Police had announced a prize of Rs. 50,000 on Ghanshyam and his gang. He was under investigation by 11 criminal cases, murders and other crimes. He was a brilliant shooter.
Three of the dead brave men are Company commander (PAC) Beni Madhav Singh and constables Shamim and Iqbal, while IG VK Gupta, DIG SK Singh and STF personnel Navendra Singh and Akram, Dileep Kumar Tiwari and Rajendra Singh were injured.
State Police Chief Vikram Singh said, "Ghanshyam Kewat has been shot dead by the UP police," he added, “That though Kewat was has been killed in a gun battle outside the village, The dacoits were using .303 rifles, double and single barrel of .312 bore and hand bullets.” Read more about Ghanshyam Kewat Dead Click Here.
