Former Defence Minister George Fernandes was admitted to a city hospital here for a routine check up and would soon be discharged, hospital authorities said today.

According to family sources, Fernandes was taken to Max Hospital in Saket last evening by his estranged wife Leila Kabir and his son, who are currently staying with him, for a routine checkup.
