Earthquake hit Mexico City Puebla Today

Mexico City Puebla hit today from 5.7 magnitude Earthquake

A dreadfully 5.7 magnitude earthquake hitting the state of Puebla, Mexico city yesterday May 22, 2009 at 2:24pm, and trembling buildings in the colonial city of Puebla. It was a very strong earthquake but luckily nobody was injured and death in this event.

The Quake was the second medium-sized earthquake to hit Mexico in the last few weeks.

The quake had magnitude of 5.7and was centered 90 miles (140 kilometers) southeast of the capital. The Mexican seismological service calculated it at 5.9.

At the time of Earthquake every people came out of their house, building, offices, schools and others and waited several minutes before returning indoors. 3,000 workers were evacuated from the assembly line. Children were also evacuated from nearly schools. All the people looks was so upset and shocked. The capital has lived through powerful earthquakes, including one in 1985 which was death more than 10,000 people. It suffered long and powerful.

After the Earthquake helicopter flying over Mexico City, 85 miles from the epicenter and also reported no serious injuries or damage to buildings in the state of Puebla. This city is a famous of tourist destination and known for its old colonial churches and ornate "Talavera" pottery.

Yesterday earthquake was very stronger and closer to the capital than one that hit last month. At this time, the quake is reported as a “moderate” 5.7-magnitude, downgraded from the original 5.9.

Mariana Rodriguez the office worker of Mexico City was in a 19th-floor bathroom when she felt her building swing. She said I saw in the mirror that everything was moving and the soap even fell down. We were really nervous but they did not let us go away the building.

There have been no reports of important damage, injuries or casualties. The water system, subways and hospitals are reporting no damages. After the Earthquake some people directly got on Facebook and Twitter to tell friends and family everything is ok in Puebla City.
