Sony PlayStation PS3 Firmware 2.7 Includes Long List of Features or may be Rumor. Sony described a bug they fixed with the next system software update (2.70) that might solve issues.
Sony Entertainment announced to updates PlayStation 3 PS3 Firmware 2.70 update. The new PS3 highly anticipated 2.70 Firmware update will released next week. There is no declaration of revealed in terms of what to expect but lots of rumors going so far in the internet.
Rumored features expected in 2.70 are In game chat, Voice messaging, More home game launching. So what do you guys think? Will 2.70 include these features or will we have to wait for 2.80?
PlayStation 3 PS3 Firmware 2.70 update includes the following features:
Gamer Card & Trophies:
- Newly acquired trophies auto-sync in the background
- Past Trophy information can be viewed in detail by selecting "Recent Trophy History" option.
- Gamer Card layout has been changed to more closely resemble the PlayStation Store aesthetic.
- Server infrastructure for Trophies has been optimized. Resulting in faster retrieval time for Gamer Card and Trophy information.
Friends List:
- Trophy number and Gamer Level are listed under Friend names for quick reference.
- Voice Messaging is now available as an alternative to text after selecting a user on the friends list. Voice message recordings are capped at 30 seconds.
- Home Integration: Saved Playstation Home avatar photos can be selected as photo ID for Gamer Card/Friends List.
In-Game XMB:
- Internet Browser can now be accessed while in-game.
- "Theme settings" options while in-game is now available, allowing custom themes to be applied to the In-Game XMB.
- Voice messaging and voice chat options can be used while in-game.
- Loading time for In-Game XMB has been drastically reduced, resulting in a more seamless in-game experience.
- Options that cannot be used in the XMB during game sessions are grayed out (but still selectable) to eliminate user accessibility confusion.
Misc:
- Other slight UI tweaks and enhancements.

you guys don't know what you are talking about. there is no in game voice chat. you can't set themes for in game xmb. there is no trophy or gamer level under friend names. recent trophy history?? gamer card layout?? people this is why we keep retards behind closed doors. if you're going to give information about a specific game system make sure you have tested what you're commenting about and actually own the system. unless you work for sony in which you're a complete moron and don't know how to properly create a update that no PS3 has a problem with.
