Major League Baseball Team Detroit Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga had a perfect game on June 2nd 2010. Tigers team celebrate the first perfect game in Detroit Tigers' History. Galarraga had a perfect game going with 2 outs in the top of 9th when first base umpire Jim Joyce made a controversial call, ruling a batter safe at first when video replay showed he was out.
Umpire Joyce later said "I just cost that kid a perfect game, I thought he beat the throw. I was convinced he beat the throw, until I saw the According to Fox Sports Detroit's Tigers Live post-game show, Galarraga said Joyce apologized to him and gave him a hug.
