A Continental Airlines jet taking off from Denver veered off the runway into a ravine and caught fire Saturday night. Officials says "Pplane that more than 107 passengers went off the runway in from Denver International Airport."
No deaths were reported and there were no immediate reports of serious injuries in the accident Saturday night at Continental Flight 1404.
Continental spokeswoman Mary Clark said the plane had 107 passengers and five crew members. The plane appeared to have slid into a ditch and was on fire after the crash, Corsaro reports. The weather in Denver was cold but no snow at that time. Roads to the airport was dry. FAA spokeswoman Laura Brown said the flight was headed to Houston. Officials do not release other details. The plane veered off course about 2,000 feet from the end of the runway and did not appear to be airborne, Day said.
