Cleveland Water Main Break Latest News

A number of schools in Cleveland are shut down because of the water break at East 40th and Hamilton Avenue.The schools are : Eastern Tech, Jane Adams, Ginn Academy, Lincoln West, Max Hayes, Cleveland School of the Arts Upper Campus, and Lakeside Preparatory . Cleveland State University College was also closed.

They are all affected by the water in jugs and jars are closed today.A waterline burst under the Public Square this morning, pushing manhole covers from the streets and knocking out traffic lights.Police recommend that you use the pipe that ruptured area.The sewer cleaning Regional District says it will review the status of a 108-inch pipe that is located under the water main ruptured.

Hundreds of workers at a 15-story office tower with flooding were evacuated as a precautionary measure because the basement contains the building electrical system in 30-inch water main has three smaller pipes that branch off, Goersmeyer said. It was unclear whether the smaller pipes burst or if nearby sewer pipes were damaged.
