Early life
Ray Charles was born on 23rd Sep 1930 in Albany, Georgia. Ray was the son of Aretha Williams and Bailey Robinson, his father is a railroad repair man . his father and mother never married with each other. bothe moved to Greenville, Florida, when Ray was an child. Bailey had also three more families, in Aretha.
At the time of his born Ray Charles was not blind. He begin to lose his eye sight at the age of six year. He was totally blind when he was seven year.Charles never knew accurately why he lost his eye sight, while sources advise that his blindness was due to glaucoma, and some other sources advise that Ray start to lose his eye sight due to a virus caused by foamy water to his eyes which was left untreated. Ray studey at the St. Augustine School before he lost his eye sight then he join St. Augustine, Florida.
Career and Success
Charles start working as a musician in so many bands he played in various styles, some of them are jazz , in Tampa "with a hillbilly band called The Florida Playboys." Charles go to Seattle in 1947.When he come in show business, his name was abridged to Ray Charles to prevent misunderstanding with boxer Sugar Ray Robinson.
In 1959, Charles go across over to top 40 radio with the release of his unprepared blues, "What'd I Say", which was originally conceived while Charles was in show. The song become the number 1 on the R&B list and it become Charles' first top ten single on the pop graph. Charles would also know as The Genius of Ray Charles, before he leav Atlantic for a more profitable deal with ABC Records in 1959.

Charles was married two time and he become a father for 12 children with 10 distinctive women. Hi first marriage with Eileen Williams in 31st July 1951 to 1952 then he marrie with Della Beatrice she give him three child. he marie with Beatrice Howard Robinson on 5th April, 1955 to 1977. at the time of his death His long term girlfriend and partner Norma Pinella was stay with him..
Ray Charles died due to liver disease on Thursday 10th June, 2004. at the time of his death He was 73year old.
