Capybara has become a celebrity throughout the world. It was spotted at Paso Robles, California. Nick Kamp, a worker at the Paso Robles wastewater treatment plant photographed capybara on 22nd July before it vanished into the Salinas River bed. Capybaras are the world’s biggest rodents which are the inhabitant to South America. As per California Department of Fish and Game, the capybara spotted at Paso Robles weighs 100-120 pounds. Nick Kamp took 3 photos of capybara and described the animal as an oversized guinea pig but had longer nose and head. According to Nick Kamp, the animal looked calm & serene as well as it swam with its head just outside the water and other times, it swam completely underwater. Before going into the wastewater the animal locked eyes with Kamp and while it was swimming everyone could see just bubbles which were rising to the surface. Till now it is not confirmed whether it is capybara in the photo. Video of Worlds largest rodent, the capybara, roams California from youtube: |
