Captain Kanwaljit Singh Dies at 67 in Car Accident
Punjab Cooperation Minister Captain Kanwaljit Singh died in Road accident.
Punjab(Mera Chandigarh) : Punjab Shiromani Representative Akali Dal leader and Minister of Cooperation Captain Kanwaljit Singh Sunday at 4:30 pm died in a road accident near village Khanpur on Kharar-Riopar highway.
Captain Kanwaljit Singh Died at the age of 67 years. The Death Captain Kanwaljit Singh sent shock wave in Punjab. As per the available sources, Kanwaljit Singh and two other injured people were taken to Khara Civil Hospital where he was rushed to PGIMER, Chandigarh in a critical condition, Mohali's Senior Superintendent of Police, JS Aulakh said.
Captain Kanwaljit Singh was elected MLA for the third term from Banur assembly constituency. Mr. Singh, who was going for an election meeting was moved to PGIMER (Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research), his aides said.
As per of the available sources, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has called on an emergency cabinet meeting for tomorrow at Punjab Bhawan at 12:00 Noon to ensure the sad death Captain Kanwaljit Singh.
Captain Kanwaljit Singh was seen as a man of principles and upright politician. He has traveled extensively abroad and has changed the face of the Cooperative Movement in Punjab.
