The pilot in charge of the flight 3407 that crashed on approach at the airport in Buffalo, New York on 12th February, and killing all 49 people on board and one man on the ground. The National Transportation Safety Board US released pieces of information today. The pilot Marvin Renslow was a first officer during his time in Charleston for Colgan Airlines, which is a contract company for U.S. Airways and United Express. The pilots may not have been in any condition to fly.

The captain, Marvin Renslow, was seen sleeping in the crew lounge at Newark the night before the flight--a firing offense with most airlines. Cockpit voice recordings also revealed that Rebecca Shaw, his co-pilot, was complaining of feeling and should not have been on the flight.

NTSB Chairman Mark Rosenker tells the panel that the three-day hearing will not address who is to blame for the accident. We will continue to collect information that will assist the safety board in its examination of safety issues arising from this accident.

Some of the victim's families met with New York Senator Charles Schemer earlier today to discuss the need for air safety reforms. Investigators reportedly believe the pilots did not fully understand the operation of an ice-protection system. Read more about Buffalo Plane Crash Click Here.
