Cigar legend Alejandro Robaina has died at aged of 91. Alejandro Robaina - Cuba’s most revered tobacco grower died Saturday at his home near San Luis. Alejandro Robaina was Cuba's most famous cigar maker and the only grower to have a brand of Cuban cigars named after him. Alejandro Robaina was an ambassador for the country's state-run cigar industry and enjoyed greeting visitors to his farm in Vuelta Abajo. Alejandro Robaina died on April 17, 2010, and was buried in a casket adorned with a half-smoked cigar bearing his name and a yellow tobacco flower. There was no immediate word on funeral arrangements. |
