Alternative rock star Alanis Morissette will be part of a story arc in Showtime's "Weeds". Weeds are a highest rated comedy series. Alanis Morissette will play the role of doctor.

First this role play by Nancy Botwin but at the end of the 4th Season Nancy Botwin is unexpectedly pregnant by Tijuana mayor Esteban's baby.

Alanis character will have close bond with the story line. Nancy character is a big part of the fifth season but now this role play by Alanis Morissette. Nancy will appear 7 out of 13 episodes. The acting spell may need Alanis to do "tasteful nudity" as part of her hunt for Justin Kirk's character, Andy saying source.

This is not Alanis first appearance in the TV Show. She  has also worked in 2006 as a guest star in "Nip/Tuck" as Poppy. The weeds Season 5 will release on 8th June 2009.
