Construction of a car, Bloodhound, has been started by British engineers with the objective to break the 1,000 mph (1609 kph) barrier. It is anticipated that Bloodhound will be the fastest car of the world. In late 2012 or early 2013, the car will try to break land speed records. From the last three years Bloodhound has been in design. Supersonic car Bloodhound’s parts and electronic components are made according to the blueprints. Easter will deliver them (parts and electronic components) to the engineers' Bristol design house. Image source: www.dailymail.co.uk A Falcon hybrid rocket and a Eurofighter-EJ200-Typhoon jet engine will power the Bloodhound to mount an assault on the land speed record. As per the BBC, a thrust of 200 kilo newtons should be delivered by this. Weight of Bloodhound will be only about six tones. In the Construction process of Bloodhound, at least seven firms from the region have been involved such as from causative specialist services like 3D scanning, software and balancing to build part of the chassis. A main role in constructing over half of the chassis is played by the aerospace arm of Brierley Hill-based Hampson Industries. The Bloodhound’s centre of gravity is advanced, due to the rocket is positioned above the engine therefore in comparison to other land speed breaking vehicles such as the Thrust SSC in 1997, the shape of Bloodhound is fairly dissimilar. The part of all important intake shock management structure is formed by the external cockpit shape so it looks that comfort of driver Andy Green has been compromised slightly.
