An unnamed young girl who is just 10 years old has given birth to a baby girl in the Colombia. The baby is healthy and weighs 5 pounds in spite of the high-risk pregnancy. The girl's daughter was delivered by a C-section delivery as the pelvis of her mother was too small. While the girl reached the hospital she was profusely bleeding, crying and suffering from the pain. The mother and baby are doing well after the operation.  The pre-teen girl had never visited the doctors during her 39 weeks pregnancy. She is a member of the Wayuu people from the town of Manaure. The new mom became one of the youngest mothers in the world after giving the birth. She is refusing to breastfeed her daughter. The father of the baby is still unknown but as per the Colombian newspapers it can be a 15-year-old boy or 30-year-old man. The police are not able to press any charges as the tribe possess its own sovereignty and cultural traditions. As per the director of the hospital, they have seen many pregnancy cases in girls of the Wayuu ethnicity. She is not the only young mother who delivered the baby at 10 years. |
