2010 (MMX) will be a common year starting on Friday of the Anno Domini/Common Era, in accordance with the Gregorian calendar. It is also the first year of the 2010s decade. Proclaimed by the United Nations, 2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity. Among experts and the general public, there is a debate as to how specific years of the 21st century should be pronounced in English.
