World’s largest coffee house company, Starbucks announced that they will be including largest drink size to their menu, 'Trenta' (31-Ounces Cup) in all United States coffee shops. The new size drinking cup will be available from 3rd May, 2011 only for iced coffee, iced tea and iced tea lemonade drinks in the United States. Currently, Starbuck is offering largest size Starbucks cup the ‘Venti’ for iced drinks that is 7 ounces smaller than Starbucks' ‘Trenta’. In Phoenix and Tampa, Starbucks is already offering 31-ounce cup of iced coffee or tea and now they are planning to offer this size in other Parts of US country. McDonald's is the main competitor of Starbucks that sells 32-ounce sweet teas in Southern markets and currently began offering espresso. The cost of Trenta size iced coffee is $3.30 and iced tea is $2.60 that is 50 cents more than similar Venti-sized iced drinks. The Trenta Size has been already stared in 14 states such as Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Hawaii and Arizona from today (Jan 18) and it will be started in California on 1st February, 2011. World’s biggest coffee chain, Starbucks said that new size unsweetened drinks will have less than 90 calories and sweetened version will have fewer than 230 calories. Seattle-based Starbucks has more than 16,858 stores in 50 countries, in which over 11,000 in US, 700 in the UK and 1000 in Canada. It does not only offer coffee and tea, but also offers coffee beans, salads, hot and cold sandwiches and panini, pastries, snacks, and other items like mugs and tumblers. The world's biggest fast-food restaurant chain, McDonald's Corp has directly targeted at Starbucks with fruit smoothies, frappes and espresso drinks including cappuccino and lattes. By its cheap cost drink, it attracted numbers of customers as compared to Starbucks. Currently, McDonald's is selling 32-ounce (946.4 ml) sweet tea drinks at just $1 each.
