Entrepreneur Nationality: American Invention: mass production Henry Ford Biography and Life History Henry Ford was an inventor, philanthropist and a successful American businessman. Ford was the founder of the ever-popular Ford Motor Company, which had its first success with the Model T Ford car, which was released in 1908. Henry Ford was one of the most brilliant entrepreneurs in creating a car-assembly line, it was his controversial characteristics and unorthodox approach to the management of Ford Motor Company, which resulted in a conglomerate of one of the most successful in the world. Automobile Company Henry Ford was born July 30 1863, on his family farm in Dearborn, Michigan. From the time he was a boy, Ford enjoyed tinkering with machinery. Ranching and a job in a Detroit Machine shop gave him ample opportunity to experiment. He later worked as a part-time employee of Westinghouse Motor Company. For 1896, Ford built the first horse less carriage, which he sold to finance the work on a better model. Ford was hired as an apprentice in a machine shop where he learned about the internal combustion engine. After years of learning his trade, Ford returned to the family farm and worked part time for Westinghouse Motor Company. Ford set up a small machine shop on the farm and began tinkering with engines and machines. During this time, Ford fell in love with Clara Bryant, who he married in 1888. Ford went on to find investors to form a company called Detroit Automobile Company, which soon went bankrupt because of distorted constant improvement of their car design and racing it against other manufactures cars, but forget to actually sell cars. The companies, investors wanted a production model is released, so they hired Henry M Leland to get the job done. Ford soon resigned and the company was Cadillac Automobile Company.
