Citi smart credit cards to be launched soon

Citi is one of the first major credit cards service companies in the country to hold new technology. Customers will be allowed to switch between payment options by pressing a button with "smart" credit cards that will be launched soon by Citi. According to Time Magazine report, Citi announced at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas that Next generation credit card manufacturer Dynamics Inc. developed new Thank You Prestige 2G card that will be also launched in the near future to a small number of selected accountholders.

For making a purchase, customers will be able to select between using their regular credit card account and redeeming their accumulated rewards points with the new “Thank You Prestige 2G” card. The first fully programmable magnetic strip of the world will also be included in the card. Users are allowed to change the information stored on the card at any time by this technology. Lifespan of the battery is about four years.

Customers are eagerly waiting for the launch of a card from Dynamics by which they are allowed to switch between credit and debit accounts but no plan about that has been announced by Citi at this time.
