In 2009, Bank of China, one of the four biggest state-owned banks, paid senior executives and board members a total of 205 billion yuan ($30 billion), down 45% from 373.7 billion yuan in 2008, according to the annual financial report released by the Shanghai- and Hong Kong-listed bank. In 2009, the pretax salary for Xiao Gang, chairman of the board of directors was 759,000 yuan and that for Li Lihui, president of the bank, was 755,000 yuan.
